Achieving Your Goal
It's true that many wealthy and well-known people today have achieved their success simply because of what they look like, rather than what they have done. And whilst lots of children dream of becoming a 'celebrity' the reality is that very few actually get their wish.
For most of us, work is the reality of everyday living. The key to happiness and success is to find a job that you really, truly enjoy so that work turns into pleasure. If this seems too far-fetched, just talk to someone who is happy at work. They will tell you that the day flies by, that they don't 'wish time away' and that they don't dread getting up in the morning to go to work.
Let's look at a few 'Rules of Achievement' to help you live a happy, fulfilled life:
- Be in control
The more control you have over your life the happier you will be
- Be responsible
Once you begin to accept responsibility for your own success and achievement, it will happen
- Compensation
Achievers always get paid in full for what they do
- Service to others
The more you can do for other people, the more they will be prepared to do for you
- Work hard
Get lucky! Hard working people seem to be amazingly lucky because they create their own luck
- Prepare for success
Really successful people prepare by practicing and rehearsing over and over again
- Be flexible
Whilst you need to be clear about your goal, you need to be flexible about how you achieve it
- Be persistent
It's easy to give up at the first hurdle, but lots of successful people have made it because they kept trying. Sylvester Stallone had hundreds of auditions before he was cast as Rocky!
