Caring for young children is a hugely important job, and this course will equip you to do it.
You'll study a range of topics that, between them, will give you a very clear understanding of the regulatory and administrative aspects of child care. For instance, you'll cover health and safety and quality assurance issues and learn how to meet OFSTED guidelines.
At the same time, as well as looking at the administrative aspects of child day care, your training is designed to provide you with an equally good understanding of the physical, psychological and emotional needs of children.

At the end of your course you will be able to enter for the optional ASET Level 3 Diploma in Child Day Care. This award is at an equivalent to A Level or NVQ Level 3.

You will need to complete 10 lessons with a set of assignments throughout the duration of your course. Your assignments will enable your tutor to keep a careful eye on your progress, offer helpful feedback, and ensure you're getting the very most from your training.
The Diploma in Child Day Care course consists of 10 Study Units that between them cover all the different aspects of child care. It's designed to let you to learn at your own pace, and to build your knowledge in a logical way.
You should be able to complete the entire course within approximately 100 hours.
You don't need to know anything about the subject before you start, but by the end you will know enough to think about taking a professional ASET qualification.
